What does Card Motive create from my card images?
Card Motive pairs your images, prepares card details, drafts the title and description, applies your seller rules, and prepares an eBay-ready draft for review. You remain in control of the final listing.
Does Card Motive support trading card games?
Yes. Card Motive supports sports cards (hockey, football, baseball, basketball, soccer, racing) and trading card games: Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon TCG, and Dragon Ball. Each TCG family uses the correct eBay category and item specifics — Game, Card Name, Rarity, Manufacturer, Finish, and MTG-specific fields like Color and Creature Type.
How does Card Motive identify my card?
Card Motive uses a staged pipeline, not a single AI guess. First, the AI extracts objective visible facts from your scans (player or card name, set, number, parallel, features). Then it searches trusted card databases for candidate matches. Finally, the candidates are compared against your scans and the seller chooses the exact card — the AI never decides on its own.
What trusted sources does Card Motive search?
Sports cards are searched against TradingCardDB (tcdb.com), a free public card checklist. Magic: The Gathering uses Scryfall, Yu-Gi-Oh! uses YGOPRODeck, and Pokémon uses the Pokémon TCG API. Dragon Ball cards are identified through manual review with AI-extracted visible facts. Beckett is available as a first identification source for the owner's pilot account, but is never required for public use.
What do I need to use Card Motive?
An eBay seller account. Card Motive guides you through a secure eBay connection, your inventory location, and your existing shipping, payment, and return policies. You do not need an eBay Developer account or need to share your eBay password.
What needs to be set up before I publish live?
Connect your eBay seller account, confirm an inventory location, and select the shipping, payment, and return policies you want to use. Card Motive keeps those choices in one guided setup so your drafts are ready for review before they are published.
What AI model is currently used?
The Card Motive Dashboard uses Google Gemini 2.5 Flash for image identification — the most efficient model that proved fully reliable and accurate across our card benchmark. Card Motive may update the underlying model as the product evolves, while preserving the same review-first safeguards.
Will Card Motive publish a listing without my approval?
No. Card Motive is designed around seller review. AI prepares the first draft, but you review and explicitly approve a listing before it can be sent to eBay.
Can I keep my own title, shipping, and listing style?
Yes. Your seller profile can apply your title order, description wording, starting-price rules, shipping settings, business policies, and review requirements instead of forcing a generic template.
How does AI confidence work?
Confidence shows how clearly the AI could identify listing fields from the images. Uncertain details are marked for your review; confidence is never a replacement for your final approval.
How fast is an AI identification?
Our early pilot target is about 5-10 seconds for each card's first draft after upload. Actual timing and accuracy are being measured through real seller testing, and every listing remains review-first.
