Information you give us

Account details: your email address and password. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider (Supabase) and stored only as secure hashes; Card Motive never sees them in plain text. We also record when you accepted our Terms.

Card images and listings: the images you upload, the drafts Card Motive prepares, and your edits, approvals, SKUs, prices, and listing settings.

Waitlist: if you join the waitlist on our website, your name (optional), email address, and seller type (optional).

Support messages: anything you send us by email or through the dashboard's feedback form.

Information from connected services

eBay: when you connect eBay, we receive an access authorization (a refresh token), your eBay user ID and username, and the business policies and locations you choose to use. The token is encrypted before it is stored. We never receive your eBay password. Disconnecting eBay in the dashboard deletes the stored token immediately.

Payments: paid plans are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details directly; Card Motive never sees or stores full card numbers. We receive your Stripe customer ID, plan, subscription status, and renewal date.

Information collected automatically

We use a single essential sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, plus short-lived security cookies during eBay connection. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers. Our servers keep limited technical logs (for example, request times, error types, and usage counts) to keep the Service secure and reliable. Logs are designed not to contain passwords, tokens, or image contents.

How we use information

To provide the Service: identify cards, prepare and store drafts, create and publish eBay listings when you ask, and track your plan's monthly usage. To match your style: your approved listings are used as private references for your own future drafts, never shared with other sellers. To bill paid plans, provide support, send account and service notices, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve Card Motive. We send waitlist and product-update emails only to people who asked for them.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers who help run Card Motive, and only what they need: Supabase (sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting, database, and image storage), Stripe (payments), eBay (when you connect and list), and AI model providers accessed through OpenRouter, Google, or OpenAI, which receive card images and related text to identify cards under their API terms. Card reference lookups (such as TradingCardDB, Beckett, Scryfall, YGOPRODeck, and the Pokémon TCG API) receive card details like player, set, and number, not your personal information. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users, the public, or Card Motive. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We also don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep account information, drafts, and images while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons (such as payment records). If eBay notifies us that an eBay user has closed their account or requested deletion, we delete the eBay data we hold for that user. Waitlist entries are kept until you ask us to remove them or the waitlist ends.

Your choices and rights

You can view and edit most of your information in the dashboard, disconnect eBay at any time, and cancel a paid plan from Plan & Billing. To access, correct, export, or delete your information, or to opt out of product-update emails, email cardmotivehelp@yahoo.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; we'll honor valid requests and won't treat you differently for making one.

Security

Card Motive uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypts eBay tokens at rest, limits access to people who need it to operate the Service, and keeps each seller's data separated. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

Card Motive is meant for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Where information is processed

Card Motive is operated from the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
